Go behind the scenes with two celebrated Australian artists.

Join Wendy Sharpe and Bernard Ollis at their studio in the inner-Sydney suburb of St Peters for an intimate evening exploring their workspace and getting to know their practice. Venture through the spaces that many of their award-winning works were created in and learn more about the inspiration and creative thinking behind each of their processes.

Over the past four decades, Wendy Sharpe has held over 70 solo exhibitions and won numerous prizes, including the Archibald Prize, Sulman Prize and Portia Geach Memorial Award. In 1999, she became the first woman since the Second World War to be appointed an official war artist by the Australian War Memorial. Her exhibition Wendy Sharpe: Spellbound is at the Art Gallery of New South Wales from 25 May to 11 August 2024, with the artist regularly in attendance.

Bernard Ollis has held over 80 solo exhibitions, in Australia, New Zealand, the UK, France, Germany and China. His work is held in major public collections including the National Gallery of Australia, National Gallery of Victoria, Queensland Art Gallery and Parliament House, Canberra, as well as the Royal College of Art in London.
