Join us at the Art Gallery of New South Wales on Wednesday 12 June 2024 for a Vivid Sydney edition of Art After Hours.

Art, at its best, reflects who we are. It explores the limits of the human condition. It can even alter our perception of what it means to be human.

Tonight, our two artist-led events explore the Vivid Sydney festival theme: humanity.

Read more about the panel discussion, hosted by Benjamin Law, and check back for details of the second event.

  • Panel discussion: On humanityPart of Vivid Sydney

Benjamin Law hosts a conversation between contemporary artists and Vivid Sydney 2024 contributors Julia Gutman, Leila Jeffreys, Reg Mombassa and Guan Wei as they discuss how they express human connection and culture in their artworks.

Art is a deeply human practice and cultural touchstone. Hear first-hand what this means to these leading artistic voices and gain a fresh appreciation for the importance of art in our society.

The talk is held in conjunction with this year’s Archibald Prize at the Art Gallery of New South Wales, an annual exhibition that provides a snapshot of people who have captured our imaginations.
