Kungkarangkalpa – seven pa tjukurpa mulapa ananguku iriti nguru alatjitu tjana kanyiningi munuya lalatja malatja Tjuta nintinu. Ka kuwari tjana ngapartji kanyini.

This story has been held by Aṉangu since long ago, passed through generations, and is celebrated today. The Seven Sisters story shares lessons in women’s leadership. It tells women how to be strong, how to look after each other – such important lessons today for our young women and girls. Our future leaders.

This year has been hard for artists worldwide because of the coronavirus. It’s been really hard for Aboriginal people in Australia. A lot of Aboriginal people have poor health, so it’s a frightening time. For me, making paintings this year and celebrating my tjukurpa has been more important than ever, it’s something I’ve needed to hold onto. Painting has kept my mind clear and away from the worries of the world.
