About
This sculpture of Dionysius by Dora Ohlfsen was eventually used on her tomb in the non-Catholic cemetery of Rome. In 1932 the journalist Tom H. Cochran visited Ohlfsen's studio in Rome. He saw this work there and wrote of it:" Dionysius of the Orphic Rites - the spiritual manifestation of Bacchus. The beautifully modelled head and bust of a young man in grey stone, the Italian 'pietra serena'".
