About
"This print shows the introduction of photo-stencils, that's the main difference. I was better set up in a studio in Chapel Street, Prahran sharing with Peter Clarke. I was fossicking in libraries looking at books for images and it was the time of minimalism. The broken column had a lot to do with being in Europe, travelling around, seeing a lot. I remember going to the Victoria and Albert Museum [in London] with columns and obelisks everywhere and the Natural History Museum next to it, looking at those incredible machines. I used to find it fascinating. Simplicity, spelling out the forms, sculptural but with more clarity …"
