About
"I forget which came first the painting or the print – they were done at the same time and place. I was still using paper stencils, but starting to introduce oil pastel lines – a slight touch of drawing to put on top of the paper stencils, introducing some sort of line with form, a rough line … They were bigger prints. I was beginning to become more confident. At the time I was painting on sheets of Masonite, six by fours – I was trying to introduce some textural thing in the paintings; and in the same way I was trying to introduce a textural feel in the prints …"
