Brett Whiteley: Feathers and Flight

View the former workplace and home of the renowned Australian artist Brett Whiteley (1939–92). The Brett Whiteley Studio now presents exhibitions relating to Whiteley’s art, archives and legacy.

Whiteley was fascinated by the beauty and character of birds throughout his life. From childhood he would watch birds in flight and nest, observing their movements and character. As an artist he continually captured their personality, trying to understand and know these extraordinary creatures. In drawings, paintings and sculpture Whiteley wanted to express his joy, humour and love through birds.
