My body of work explores the loss of my youth in the pandemic lockdowns and my gratitude for being able to live my last high school year freely. I represent my inner turmoil in struggling to maintain my educational growth and mental health during the pandemic through the isolated girl, seen in the first scroll tied by demonic red strings which become pink-hued scars in the subsequent scrolls. The third scroll’s external setting refers to restrictions being lifted, although the virus is still here. Thrown-away masks and riot posters litter the ground, while the sunset expresses a new beginning.
