Alexa Dyne A quiet intimacy
My body of work was inspired by the moments of quiet in our lives that arise through the mundane and intrinsic connections we have to places we call home. Working on copper my intent was to express the quality of the delicate light that can invoke stillness, when, briefly, time elongates and we are left with nothing but our own thoughts. In my work there is no human subject. This creates a sense of absence, yet there is a presence in the memories that each space holds. A home welcomes the foreigner, the melancholy; the door opens for the absent.
