Gabriella Munoz Metamorphosis
Metamorphosis is a biological process where an animal physically develops after birth or hatching. The animal’s body structure changes radically through cell growth and differentiation. My body of work is inspired by the fascinating way cells operate and interact. Each image is a representation of living cells, and the organelles within that are ‘operating’ them. Each organelle’s function is crucial to the role of its cell and in communicating with other cells to create tissue and life forms. Through the contrasting, push and pull, exaggerated vibe of the images, I invite the audience to have a dialogue with the work.
