Natasha Capstick Time between times

Inspired by the Celtic saying ‘Time between times’ I sought to explore the transitional state between wakefulness and sleep. During this phase, countless mental phenomena can be experienced, including lucid dreaming, hallucinations and sleep paralysis. Using digital technology I have attempted to frame these sensations by constructing a surrealistic portrayal of the human form suspended within a loophole of time and space; of dreamscapes and reality. My work endeavours to both accentuate and distort the thresholds of unconsciousness – alluding to humanity’s futile attempts to comprehend the intangible realm that exists beyond.
