About
The group is based on a print of 1742 entitled ‘Les délices de l’enfance’ by J-J Balechou after François Boucher. A Chinese lady holds in her right hand a large kettle while with her left she pours a beverage into a cup held up by a Chinese boy. The print is one of a series which also provided further models for Meissen chinoiserie groups. The attribution of the model is uncertain, but it seems most probably to be by Reinicke.
