Title
Harry Boyd posing for the sandstone sculpture 'Opus 24' 1946 by Robert Klippel
1946
About
Harry Boyd was a friend of Robert Klippel's from 1943. Klippel wrote in his notebook: "The job I am doing of Harry in stone - I can't put into words how I feel about his bigness, about obvious things in the man - I would like to be able to express through one volume, if it were possible, the essence of the thing felt - everything in one shape.". The final work 'No. 24 Harry Boyd' 1946 is in the collection of the National Gallery of Australia, Canberra.
