About
This piece of silk cloth would have been used as a skirt cloth by a woman. It is decorated with stripes, diamond and floral motifs, and candlestick-like shapes that are protective diagrams. The latter decoration is a central Thai influence. Unusually, there is no border section along the sides of the textile. The cloth is composed of two pieces of fabric, indicating that it was woven on a backstrap loom and that it may be a provincial textile.
