About
Faithorne returned from exile in Paris around 1652 and set himself up in London as a print publisher and a dealer of artist's materials. He continued to engrave portraits, many of which were commissioned as frontispieces from book publishers. This portrait of the mathematician John Kersey was used as the frontispiece to his 'Elements of Algebra' (1673).
