'A Concave Space' is a site-specific installation and single-channel work initially commissioned for Volume 2023, the Art Gallery's inaugural festival of sound and vision. Featuring synchronised sound, lights and multiple projections spilling across 40-metres, the work transforms the Tank into a futuristic, irridescent wetland. Reaching out through vegetal eyes, an eerie avatar makes kin with microbes and mycelial membranes, streams and soils. The work explores the Tank's material history as a Second World War oil bunker in light of ecological loss and climate change.

'A Concave Space' was created with a group of collaborators spanning Australia and the UK, including speculative writer Ama Josephine Budge, cinematographer Sonia Levy, artist April Lin and Yuin musician, JWPATON, who contributed field recordings to the work's evocative soundscape.
