Touching the Time is the title of an exhibition in Rome by Kan Yasuda which places sculpture in dialogue with the imposing spaces of the Mercati di Traiano, a location where everything looks extraordinary, evocative and timeless. The artist notes that over time, events are left as sediment among layers of memory; fragments secretly preserved with their boundless potential and internal energy. The latent energy of the sculpture echoes with that of the place of installation, so that those who see and touch the sculptures feel the flow of time and hear the (silent) resonating voices as if touching the accumulation of times passed that materialize in the present.
