The subject of this portrait by Frederick Fullerton is orthopedic surgeon Douglas Parker (1900-1988). 'Douglas was in pain when the portrait was painted having just had a hip operation but he sat for me for two weeks with steely determination which is shown in his face,’ said Fullerton.
This work is now in the Fine Art Collection, University of Tasmania.
