About
Plate's early work displays elements of the poetic, romantic impulses of the School of Paris, with its emphasis on expressive figuration and gentle abstraction. The frame of this work is original, and reflects the contemporary French taste for luxurious presentation of avant garde work, even on a domestic scale.
