About
This portrait is a finely executed, sensitively drawn study of an artist by a colleague and friend. It was probably drawn in London, where both were living, before Streeton returned to Australia briefly in 1906-07. These were the years shortly following Lambert's studies at the Julian Ashton School in Sydney, Colarossi's and Atelier Delecluse in Paris (as recipient of the first New South Wales Travelling Scholarship), before his reputation was firmly established.
