  • About

David Wilson distinguished himself as both draughtsman, and teacher of drawing at the Julian Ashton Art School (where he trained) and in Bathurst, at his own school and at the campus of Charles Sturt University. He was however also a fine and gifted painter of the figure and of landscape.

Among David Wilson's works are numerous studies of animals and birds, reflecting a particular interest he had in them, and his life in the small rural township of Rockley near Bathurst. '(Dead) hawk' is one of his most accomplished studies of a bird and reveals his rare powers of observation and skills as a painter.
