About
The print, together with nos 293.1990 and 294.1990, was directly inspired by the events of the 3 Glorious Days (‘Les trois glorieuses’) of the July Revolution of 1830. Rioting broke out and barricades were erected in the streets of Paris. The revolution brought together men and women of different classes and occupations and succeeded in overthrowing the ultra-conservative government of King Charles X. He was replaced by the Citizen King, Louis-Philippe.
