Art centre documentation for this work states:
“I grew up there at Alkngarintja Outstation in a little house. This my Country, my mum's Country. I loved growing up on Country. It is nice and quiet, and we would learn about our culture and Country. All the family was living there back then.

That is my uncles little car, my uncle used to drive round - not far - just to creek for picnic with the family. We would learn from family how to catch and eat fish. Uncle used to teach us how to find them and eat the bush tuckers.

Now I am living in Hermannsburg, now I am a mum. I take my kids to Alkngarintja Outstation to show them the Country and tell them about my stories about how I grew up there and lived there. Now I teach them fishing and how to cook kangaroo tail.”
