    On top of this delicate ink stone is a symbol of longevity: a long bearded man with a big forehead, holding his dragon cane in one hand and a peach in another. In between is a mouse. The back of the ink stone bears an engraved name Shao Songnian and 'Cang Yan' in a square. Shao (1848-1923) was a literati painter in late Qing dynasty and the Republic era.
