Title

Dish with moulded floral design

12th century-13th century

Artist

Yaozhou ware

China

About

Chinese Yaozhou ware, a dark green Northern celadon, was the inspiration for this bowl and many others produced at this time (but not later). The decoration is a moulded design of flowers. The five stilt marks which form a circle in the centre are typical of this type of ware.

The Asian Collections, AGNSW, 2003, pg.300.
