During Sydney WorldPride 2023, Sydney’s iconic queerbourhood bar and creative space The Bearded Tit presented their popular Bearded Tit Talks at the Art Gallery across three Sundays during Sydney WorldPride 2023. The three talks were curated by Bearded Tit owner Joy Ng and radio presenter and DJ Kilimi (Aketi Foketi).

Moderated by Kilimi, each talk brought together a dynamic group of LGBTQIA+ arts practitioners and community leaders to reflect on identity and belonging across LGBTQIA+, migrant and Western Sydney communities.

To what extent do diversity hires contribute to more inclusive and equitable institutions? Hear from artists and arts workers as they reflect on the power structures that permeate museums and galleries, and how diverse representation at both the front and back end of exhibition-making matters.
