Workshop: RITUAL With Maria Tran

A group of people in a hall, each in a martial arts pose

Experience the transformative power of movement, dance and martial arts in a workshop led by Maria Tran and the creative team of RITUAL.

Explore rhythm and enhance physicality and artistic expression through a unique blend of disciplines. This workshop is open to all and aims to ignite the spirit of ritualistic movement.

Maria Tran is an award-winning Vietnamese-Australian actor, filmmaker and martial artist, working in film, TV, stage and performance. She also specialises in fight action choreography and is the founder of Phoenix Eye Films, a female-led production company based in Australia and the US.

RITUAL is Tran’s latest performance work. With live Taiko drumming and powerful choreography, it is a contemporary fusion of martial-arts styles that pays reverence to the cultural traditions embedded in this ancient practice.

Witness RITUAL on Wednesday 16 August at 6.30pm before attending the workshop. Find out more about the performance
