Update from the Gallery regarding COVID-19

In line with decisions made by the National Cabinet as communicated by the NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian, the Art Gallery of New South Wales is currently closed but will reopen to the public on June 1. The Gallery will be observing strict social distancing and hygiene measures to protect the health of all visitors and staff and minimise the spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus) in the State. What's free at the Gallery

Almost everything is free, including:

  • entry, which allows you to see the Gallery’s permanent galleries and most temporary exhibitions
  • video available online through the Gallery channel
  • most events, from tours and talks to music and film

What do you have to pay for?

Admission fees apply to some major temporary exhibitions.

There are charges for some courses, symposia and other events, usually those organised by our members organisation, the Art Gallery Society of NSW.
