Update from the Gallery regarding COVID-19

In line with decisions made by the National Cabinet as communicated by the NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian, the Art Gallery of New South Wales is currently closed but will reopen to the public on June 1. The Gallery will be observing strict social distancing and hygiene measures to protect the health of all visitors and staff and minimise the spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus) in the State.     What you need to know about getting to the Gallery, including a map and details of public transport, courtesy buses, taxis and parking

  • Opening hours and admission

    Open every day 10am until 5pm, and late on most Wednesdays for Art After Hours. Closed Christmas Day and Good Friday. Other Gallery facilities have different opening days and times.

  • Cafe and restaurant

    At the Gallery, you can choose between the cafe with its adjacent outdoor terrace and the restaurant, Chiswick at the Gallery – both run by leading chef and restaurateur Matt Moran and Bruce Solomon from leading hospitality group Solotel.

    At the Gallery Shop, you’ll find the most comprehensive range of art books in Australia – from the practical to the inspirational – along with a selection of literary and non-fiction titles, children’s books, posters, postcards and creative gifts.
