The Hunter Valley is an area I have got to know a bit over the last ten years due to knowing a few people who live there and, as a result, spending some time in the region. As well, a few years back I got involved with protests to stop a particular coal mine, Bickmore, being developed there. The mine was to be located very close to some horse studs and we were successful in stopping the mine.
