Marcus Wills Man walking II

This work is part of a group of paintings in which I focused on the artist-model in the studio. Usually I work with a broader theme or narrative, instead Man walking II strips away the story and simply concentrates on the figure in the studio – bare, upfront and without fanfare. I use the traditional technique of oil and tempera to build up the layers of paint to form the lean musculature of the model.
