Jasper Knight The fatal shore

enamel, masonite, plywood and metal signs on board

130 x 80 cm

This work depicts a working crane at Port Botany, Sydney. The title, The fatal shore, not only relates to Robert Hughes’ book from 1987 but is also a reference to the location of this work, Botany Bay, the founding place of European Australia. It is a slightly smaller work than in my normal practice but by no means less powerful.
