Juliet Holmes a Court Portrait of George

This portrait by Juliet Holmes a Court of Rugby Union footballer George Gregan was a finalist in the Daily Telegraph Sporting Portrait Prize, held in conjunction with the Archibald Prize 2000.

Gregan is famous as the Wallabies rugby halfback but Holmes a Court wanted to show there is more to the man than football. 'With a portrait you are painting the person, not just a face,’ she says.

Born in 1955, Holmes a Court is a Sydney painter who has been exhibiting regularly since 1991.
