Stuart Maxwell Poet, painter, playwright SM contemplates the real Rod Milgate

This painting is one of several self-portraits by Stuart Maxwell in the Archibald Prize, including three works in which he depicts himself alongside a sitter – in this case, artist and playwright Rodney Milgate, who was an Archibald finalist in 1964.
