This portrait by Graeme Inson of Edward Gough Whitlam (1916–2014) is now in the collection of the National Portrait Gallery, Canberra.

An Australian Labor Party politician, Whitlam was prime minister of Australia from 1972 until he was controversially dismissed by the governor-general John Kerr in 1975. He retired from parliament in 1978.
