Artist’s statement

My body of work focuses on the way in which architectural forms are abstracted by the effects of light and shadow on their structures. The formations of compositions and shapes are key motifs in showcasing the beauty of the ubiquitous. Through the unity of the abiotic and biotic forms – constructed buildings, natural light and shadows – the dramatic impact humans have had on the Earth is emphasised. Strong high contrast, sharp lines, textures and geometric forms are the essential elements that combine in my compositions.
