Artist’s statement

Capturing aspects of the sky, the land, the clouds and the horizons, my work links to the current Northern Rivers Rail Trail project; the rejuvenation of a historical, unused train track that runs from Casino through Bangalow, Byron Bay and Mullumbimby to Murwillumbah. The train was in use while my grandparents were living in the area in Lismore and Nimbin, giving them access to the city and education. As my family journeys home each year to Byron Bay, we are reminded of our homeland while we travel along the track, experiencing the cloudy horizons, side farms and stunning scenery.
