Artist’s statement

Exit from Eden aims to reflect humanity’s impact on the world throughout history and the negative repercussions that are associated with this. The women represent air, earth and water respectively. They intertwine and affect each other, while the delicate introduction of plastic bags and other industrial objects conveys the underlying threat. The use of negative space in the work suggests a void, subtly conveying the ominous future for humanity and its environment. This work aims to highlight the need for humans and nature to co-exist harmoniously in the world.
