Artist’s statement

The negative perception that others have of the Housing Commission estate where I live is what drove me to create my film. My intention is to show the raw beauty of the community that is often hidden among the stresses of everyday living. When producing my work, I failed to realise how ‘close to home’ this actually is; my true emotions on display.

Influencing artists: Mikhail Kalatozov and Sergey Urusevsky, Phillip Crawford and Gemma Parsons
