Artist’s statement

Combining my Hungarian heritage with shamanism I have created masks of the hare, the horse, the deer, the fox and the owl, all of which are Hungarian spirit animals. Each mask mirrors specific characteristics of the family member wearing it. Using skills passed down by my grandmother, I knitted, crocheted and dyed, weaving stories and tales of my childhood into my work.
