Artist’s statement

My artwork is a psychological exploration of monsters. A journey past our glazed outer shell into the yolk of subjectivity. An allusion to psychology and interpretation. The grunge and darkness that lurks in our minds, if analysed, reveals a hidden beauty that defines reason. Fear, then, is an essential element of our existence. My work refers to the fact that fear and evil are integral aspects of our existence and that our embrace and acceptance of them can lead to self-development, happiness and, ultimately, reason. It is thus that the sleep of monsters will produce reason.
