Artist’s statement

In my work I explore many concepts regarding childhood imagination and reality, also looking at time as evident in my video and the continuous skipping of the rope. As it is a postmodern piece it is up to the audience to make their own interpretation of the work above the ideas placed in it. I made the machine with junk parts that my father left me before he passed away, which acted as a major influence on my concept. But because it was made out of parts found and looked like junk I had to start from scratch three times, because people kept throwing it out, also making the process of starting over an important contributor to the process.
