Artist’s statement

I started drawing whimsical figures and humorous imagery that were quite spontaneous and had little connection other than the style and technique. There was a natural evolution from small drawings in my diary to multiple, large, layered imagery that then became an obvious reflection of self. I have used a range of media and my work reflects an investigation of contemporary artists such as Michael Bell and Adam Cullen. The title and the artwork are responsive to my growth as a teenage male and the work itself is a definitive self-portrait of where I am now.
