Artist’s statement

A highly personal exploration of ideas of truth, sexuality, obsession and hope, this work was inspired by someone close reminding me that 'hope is all you need’. Explicit images are layered to reflect the meanings and truths I wished to convey, using Photoshop to first manipulate the images and then combine them in their new context.

Collection connections

Using Ken Clarke’s digital media work and Kurt Schwitters’ collage, investigate how technological advances have impacted on contemporary art practice. Consider the effects of layering, use of text and the influence of print and screen media in both works.
