Albert Tucker
Promised gifts from the estate
Although the Art Gallery of NSW was the first Australian public gallery to represent Albert Tucker (1914–99), until now the collection has lacked the depth and diversity of his robust vision.
Barbara Tucker, the artist’s widow, has made a generous loan to the Gallery of her late husband’s work with the intention they will eventually enter the Gallery’s collection.
This exhibition includes many works that have never been seen in public before, which reveal the remarkable breadth of Tucker’s oeuvre.
