Update from the Gallery regarding COVID-19

The Art Gallery of New South Wales is open. In line with decisions made by the National Cabinet as communicated by the NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian, the Gallery is observing strict physical distancing and hygiene measures to protect the health of all visitors and staff and minimise the spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus), including timed-entry tickets. Support Asian art

There are three main ways to support Asian art at the Art Gallery of NSW:

  • donate a work of art
  • give money for purchasing Asian art for the collection
  • give money for Asian-related exhibitions, events and education

The benefits

You’ll be helping enrich the collection (for which we receive no government funding) and people’s enjoyment and appreciation of Asian art. You’ll also receive a range of benefits, depending on the contribution, including invitations to special events and private viewings.

You can also volunteer

Volunteer guides provide expert tours of the Asia art collection and temporary Asian art exhibitions to visitors of all kinds – both adults and children – including school groups, Gallery members, corporate clients and VIPs.

Our community ambassador volunteers support the Gallery by offering guided tours in Mandarin, Cantonese, Japanese and Korean languages, planning and hosting special events, and promoting the Gallery through community organisations and publications.
