About
A Savoyard child holds a tame squirrel on a leash (now broken). The figure is attributable to the modeller Joseph Wilhelm Lanz who worked for Hannong at Strasbourg and then from 1756 at Frankenthal. This figure compares with other figures by Lanz thought to originate from the Strasbourg period (for example a ‘Boy with a marmot’ in the Reiss-Engelhorn Museum, Mannheim).
