About
In 1942 Barbara Tribe took up a position with the Inspectorate of Ancient Monuments documenting important London buildings at risk of wartime damage. Tribe developed a friendship with her team leader and architect, John Singleman, and the two married in 1947. This photograph shows Tribe and Singleman on a beach in Cornwall, where they had moved to in 1948.
