    Dear Mr Mann,
Many thanks for your letter. You will have received the photograph of the panel some time ago, also Mr Lloyd’s communication. For reasons of finance I shall not be able to lose anymore time in Rome and shall be obliged to strike out in a new direction and do not expect to be in Italy after the new year. The two middle photographs of the panel are the best. The light is too harsh but there was nothing to be done as the distance lacked. I have just finished medallion portraits of Generals Birdwood and Monash and Sir Charles Wade. I am not sure if I have already sent you enclosed photographs. I have just completed a model of Sentinel Anzac and am doing a statuette of Miss Eve Balfour (nude slightly draped), the New Zealand cinema actress who is being b… as the most perfect feminine figure. Forwarding the photograph of these when taken. Dreadfully sorry you can’t get to Europe, though this is not yet the favourable moment. Better to wait a little. Believe me in friendly remembrance. Dora Ohlfsen.
