About
Plate 421 published in 'La Caricature', no 201, 11 September 1834.
The familiar corpulent figure of King Louis-Philippe is shown as a grinning clown standing on stage and waving his rod towards the blindfolded figure of justice. The stage on which the curtain is about to descend reveals the interior of the Chamber of Deputies. The title refers to the last words of the French 16th-century humanist writer François Rabelais.
